It's that time of year to switch from Yogurt to Oatmeal for breakfast.

The winter rains & temps. have come! It's been a good fall though, so no complaints.
<-----TWW & LWM---->
Also, a heads up to anyone willing to help load up DylanW's stuff into a moving van on Nov.28(Sun.). He'll be moving out of his Kits pad & I don't want him lifting anything 7 days before the marathon.

  1. Ahhh, what a shame, I'll be flying home from Guelph on the 28th. I would have loved to have helped with the move though.... really.... errr, no?

Week after week, I feel as though I've put in a solid amount of training, and yet every Sunday evening I am humbled by the cold hard fact that my coach runs more than me. Impressive Slim. Most impressive.

  2. If today is part of 'the winter rain & temps' I'll take it!

  3. Your oatmeal looks better than mine... But not quite as good as Tim Horton's... they've got those fresh berries!

Speaking of food, does the group want to go grab brunch after workout on Saturday?

  4. That's 2 teaspoons of raspberry jam stirred in. Gives it a nice pink color and makes me think of "Tubby Custard"....ummmm Tubby Custard

Can beleive I had the watch that retarded show while Robyn was growing up.

  5. Ok... no amount of jam in my oatmeal could have made this morning's run any more pleasant. Poor planning on our part to run the second mile repeat straight into a big headwind. I think today qualifies as winter rain (and wind).

  6. Timmy's has actual fresh berries? I find that surprising.

I seemed to luck out on my first run of the day...it wasn't that bad out at the time. We'll see how it is when we hit the track this evening though.

  7. I did not have such luck this morning feens. I clearly spoke too soon yesterday 'cause my run this morning was not fun. My pants kept falling down cause they were so waterlogged!

  8. Trevor - pretty sure they aren't "fresh berries"... should have said "mixed berries", which would likely be frozen.

  9. Ya...although they may have "always fresh" as part of their slogan, I generally doubt anything there is actually fresh...but I still love Timmy's.

And Dylan...by the looks of it now, you should've wait a couple more hours for your first run of the day.

  10. Yeah, it's sunny here in Kits now. I think I may just head up to UBC and get the workout done in the sunshine! Skip work and join me feens?!?

  11. One of the pros of training (and at this point tapering) for races of 10km or less: if I wake up on the morning of a workout day and the weather is shit, I just don't run.
    See ya'll tonight.

  12. Rumour has it that Saturday's high will be a balmy 2 degrees with snow showers :)

  13. Shauna, I don't quite understand why there's a smiley after such a comment :p I'm just patiently waiting for the forecast to change to something better.

Also, brunch looks like it's likely a go after workout (I asked people tonight).

  14. And then there was snow... Guess I better have double the oatmeal tomorrow!

Since it's clearly the weather for warm drinks, does everyone know that McDonald's has free coffee until the 28th? And Starbucks has a 2 for 1 deal from 2-5 pm until Sunday? Just in case you need to increase your caffeine intake...

  15. ..apparently we have a snowfall warning tonight. Good thing our group is composed of members who have grown up in or trained in winter regions.

  16. That may be true Trevor but I'm still anticipating a fair bit of whining :).
In the words of a great former coach...."this might be race day"

  17. I'll only whine if I have to run through 10 cm of snow. Or it's really windy.

  18. Bust out the toques...it's gonna be a fun one tomorrow!
